Metro TV can essentially take any or all UTMC information and deliver it, in realtime, overlaid on an easy to navigate map. With the map downloaded onto the mobile phone data transmission is kept to a minimum, and navigation around the map is quick and easy, enhancing the user experience.

Utilising data caching technologies, Metro TV makes sure that data is not continually requested from council servers, causing high data costs. Data that is requested is intelligently cached so that if in a predetermined timeframe the data is accessed by another person the data is not retrieved twice from the council database. Such technologies result in driving down the cost of ownership

Live bus information gives users the ability to clearly understand where buses are, making bus travel an extremely viable option. Live information on bus location is retrieved from the UTMC database upon request and presented to the user in a clear easy to use form.

Car parking information can also be retrieved, giving users information on where the car parks are located, costs, and hours of opening, along with the number of spaces currently available.

Live Train Information helps provide commuters and residents with information on any problems and also timetables on local and national services.

Managing events is an important part of everyday society, with football matches, concerts and x-events all causing possible congestion, the ability to advise local residents of forthcoming events all helps ease congestion.
